Another abstract, and another
flower photographed in the grounds of St. Peters and St. Pauls
church in Fareham, on a cold morning in January 2018.
The church grounds here are very
good in the month of January, with beautiful Heathers,
Crocuses and Snowdrops often in abundance. Having said that
the crocuses weren't so forthcoming this year, but I did still
manage to capture the first Snowdrop of the year on New Years
Day :)
There are
typically two methods of shooting flower abstracts, with the
photographer choosing to either set a shallow Depth of Field
so that only a small portion is in focus (e.g. the stamen) or
by photographing a partial flower. In this case I have
combined both techniques - photographing just the flower
petals (no stem or stamen) and using an aperture which allowed
me to show just the foregound petals in focus. |
