Acer Palmatum, commonly known as red
emperor maple, palmate maple, Japanese maple or smooth
Japanese-maple, is a species of woody plant native to Japan,
Korea, China, eastern Mongolia, and southeast Russia. Many
different cultivars of this maple have been selected and they
are grown worldwide for their large variety of attractive
forms, leaf shapes, and spectacular colours.
This
example was photographed in my sisters' back garden, using a
Tamron macro lens. An aperture of f7.1 proved to be the best -
giving a nice balance between how much of the leaves were in
focus against a soft out of focus backgrpound. The soft March
sunlight was hitting the pale green shrubs in the background
and help to produce a nice bokeh. |
