For centuries, Bosham was a fishing village, famous for its oysters. Located on a small peninsula in Chichester Harbour in West Sussex; a bit of a yachting place, also beloved by artists, walkers, cyclists and casual visitors.
Picturesque, with neat, well-mannered houses, all-in-all, Bosham is a great destination for a weekend drive out. At low tide, it is possible to motor around the foreshore; at high tide, your car would be submerged.
As mentioned elsewhere on this site, it is at Bosham Harbour that King Canute tried (or proved the futility of trying) to hold back the tide, depending on which account you happen to be reading.
Shot at low tide one September afternoon, I decided to look for alternative views that i hadn't photographed before. So armed with my 24-105mm lens I walked around photographing these two wooden boats for around an hour looking for something I was happy with...
