Photographed at the last ever Dunsfold Wings and Wheels in 2019, this P-51 Mustang nicknamed "The Shark" and operated by the Norwegian Spitfire Foundation was seen sporting RAF colours complete with D-Day Invasion Stripes. Owned by Shaun Patrick since 2012 it is now UK registered as G-SHWN, and from Spring of 2020 wil carry the colours of Colonel Donald Blakeslee, Commander of the 4th Fighter Group.

Dunsfold Aerodrome began life in 1942, constructed by Royal Canadian Engineers in just 5 months, and was handed over to the Royal Canadian Air Force in October of the same year. The first squadrons based at the aerodrome were 400, 414 and 430 Squadrons, RCAF, equipped with Curtiss Tomahawks and North American Mustangs. Later on during WW2 the airfield became the home to RAF Mitchell medium range Bombers of 139 Wing, and in the Autumn of 1944 by 83 group Spitfires, Typhoons and Tempests.
