Lying East of Corhampton on the Eastern side of Meon Valley, Old Winchester Hill is a Nature Reserve, and a site of Special Scientific interest. Old Winchester Hill is part of Monarch’s Way and South Downs Way, reaching a height of around 650ft.
As a chalk downland it attractions many species of Butterfly including The Speckled Wood, Dark Green Fritillary, Adonis Blue, Chalk hill Blue, Common Blue Silver Spotted Skipper, Small Heath, Marbled White and Meadow brown. A variety of birds like the European Green Woodpeckers and a many kinds of Orchids including the Frog Orchid are in abundance.
