Acer is a genus of trees and shrubs commonly known as Maples. There are approximately 132 species mostly native to Asia with a number also appearing in Europe, Northern Africa and North America. My wall art features Acer ‘Katsura’, with one of the finest and most varied displays of colour that you will find in a tree.
The lobed leaves are a bright orange when they first emerge in Spring and quickly turn to an orange-tinged yellow with a pink outline. As Spring continues the colour deepens to a rich green and in Autumn the leaves change full cycle back to a bright orange hue before they drop.
Photographed in April 2021 this beautiful and photogenic Maple is perfect for the smaller garden where you can sit back and watch the show unfold throughout the year.
