Blue Twirls is a digital abstract artform created with photo manipulation software "Gimp". It is the first of several I have been working on, and many of those have gone back to the drawing board time and time again, as I am very critical of the results I achieve.
Digital creations still need to be treated in the same way that a photograph does... it is required to be both technically acceptable but also needs to be aesthetically pleasing. The original results were cropped slightly with a couple of inches taken off the top and the bottom of the image, but it took several attempts before I was happy with the way the image balances out, both the structure of the twirls and the empty space.
