Two AH64 Army Air Corps Apaches on patrol over Salisbury Plain on a training sortie in this image which was created using a graphics tablet and Photoshop.
The Boeing AH64 Apache Longbow is an american built attack support helicopter offering close protection to ground convoys and troop movements. Armed with a 30mm Chain Gun and four hard points on stub wings affording a mixture of Hellfire Missile and Hydra Rocket Pods.
Originally designed by Hughes for the US Army to replace the Cobra the AH64 was then produced by McDonnell Douglas who purchased Hughes and subsequently production was carried on by Boeing Defense.
The Apache images were taken late afternoon on a sunny winters day near Everleigh and the airframes were cut out from the original background to use in this composition using a photo from a flight I had for the background.
