The Scottish Aviation Jetstream served as the RAF's standard multi-engined pilot trainer for many years, and was the last aircraft of Handley Page design in RAF service. The Consolidated PBY-6A Catalina was the last version of the ‘Cat’ to be developed and was a development of a pre-war design which first took to the air in 1935. The PBY series were produced in greater numbers than any other flying boat.
This picture was taken at the RAF museum, Cosford during a recent night time photo call. Towards the end of the evening the weather cleared just enough to catch a glimpse of a few stars.
