HMS Warrior was built in 1860 and was Britain’s first iron-hulled, armoured battleship. At the time of its launch, Britain had the largest Navy in the World and Warrior was the pride of Queen Victoria’s fleet. It was the largest, fastest and most powerful warship of her day and had a lasting influence on naval architecture and design.
After a lengthy restoration in Hartlepool, Warrior was moved to its permanent mooring in Portsmouth’s historic Naval Harbour. It has been on display there since 1987 and now serves as a popular visitor attraction and can even be hired for private parties and weddings.
