Staying at Coed Mawr Hall, a 19th century Manor House in the village of Rowen in Conwy, North Wales I took the opportunity to photograph the lilies that were placed in a vase on the windowsill which overlooked the Snowdonia mountains.
I like the atmosphere and vintage feel that I believe the image portrays. I feel it suits perfectly the Manor House with it’s beautiful interiors and history. Once a laundry house where rich Londoners would send their washing due to the soft spring waters of the welsh mountains.
Lilies are a genus of herbaceous flowering plants growing from bulbs with large prominent flowers. They are a group of flowers which are important in culture and literature in much of the world with most lilies being native to the temperate northern hemisphere. Lilies are exotic, highly fragrant large flowers and give a stunning display in a vase.
